New patients Welcome

Ideally your first appointment would consist of a comprehensive examination, radiographs - as required, hygiene evaluation and most likely a clean. We also understand that emergencies occur and we will endeavour to get you out of discomfort first.

Preventive Dentistry

Hygiene

Oral hygiene is an integral part of overall health. Having your teeth professionally cleaned on a regular basis can help prevent gum disease and decay. Studies have shown that poor oral hygiene can be connected with heart disease, cardiovascular disease, increased risk of stroke and some respiratory diseases.

During hygiene appointments, we remove extrinsic staining caused by drinking tea, coffee and nicotine. Some foods also can cause teeth to stain.

A fluoride treatment following a clean helps remineralise teeth and reduce sensitivity. Fluoride is an extremely integral part in the prevention
of tooth decay.

Mouthguards

Mouthguards help prevent damage occurring to teeth while playing contact sport. A large range of colours and designs are available.

Custom fitted mouthguards are required for some contact sports. Even when they are not mandatory, it is advisable to wear a mouthguard for all contact sports.

Splints/Night Guards

These appliances are designed to help with issues of TMJ disorders and bruxism (clenching and grinding teeth).

Fissure Seals

Sometimes teeth are anatomically structured in a way that can be tough to brush. A fissure seal can be used to help seal deep fissures and help prevent the formation of decay.

Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry

Composite Fillings & CEREC Fillings

When teeth are decayed a filling may be needed to help prevent any further detrimental process. These fillings can be matched with the natural colour of the tooth.

Veneers

A veneer is a thin portion of composite or porcelain that is custom fitted to your tooth to improve the aesthetic appearance. We recommend speaking to one of our Dentists to see if a veneer is an appropriate option for you.

Teeth Whitening

We provide in chair whitening and take home whitening kits. We generally will recommend that our patients use the take home kit to reduce the risk of sensitivity. It is also important to note that professional whitening will not lighten any fillings or crowns.

At Manuka Dental Care, we use Colgate Optic White Professional Whitening Formula.

Crowns & Bridges

A crown is often described as a ‘cap’, as it encircles an existing tooth or implant. Crowns can be recommended for various reasons, most commonly for a broken down tooth with limited remaining tooth structure.

A bridge is an artificial tooth fixed to a crown or crowns that help support this tooth. If you think you might need a crown or a bridge and are looking to get a second opinion, we would suggest booking in for a consultation.

Implant Surgery

Implants

A dental implant is made of titanium and looks like a screw. It is placed into the jawbone and a crown restoration is placed on top. We offer patients the option of having the implant surgery here in addition to the restorative crown. If we believe your case requires specialist care , we will refer you to a specialist for the surgical placement and/or restoration. If you would like additional information on implants, feel free to book a consultation.

Root Canal
Treatment & Extractions

Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal is a treatment that involves cleaning and shaping the root canals of a tooth in order to preserve the overall tooth. When roots of a tooth become infected antibiotics alone will not cure you. You will need to have a root canal treatment or have the tooth extracted. Depending on what the dentist recommends, root canal treatment is a two to three stage process. Sometimes we may require you to see a specialist (Endodontist) for treatment.

Extractions

All of our dentists perform routine removal of baby and adult teeth. If you require wisdom teeth removal or a surgical extraction then most likely you will be seeing Dr Sireesha. In some cases we may need to refer you to an oral surgeon.
